Lung Cancer

The main reason behind Mesothelioma lung cancer is smoking and exposure to asbestos. Since these factors have key roles in developing this disease, it is assumed that people live in an environment which supports the prevalence of this disease. This cancer affects the cell walls of lung and causes inflammation there. These cell walls are generally known as Mesothelioma. The asbestos material contains natural microscopic fibers and they enter in to the body while inhaling. This is how lung cancer is affected on people who don’t have the habit of smoking. Asbestos are widely used in aluminum plants, oil refineries and chemical plants. Thus people working in these sectors often get exposed to asbestos and easily become prone to Mesothelioma lung cancer.
The symptoms of these diseases are very much similar to the symptoms of some other diseases. Hence proper detection of Mesothelioma lung cancer is really a task. Since it takes a long duration for emerging the symptoms of this disease, in most cases the primary stage of the disease would have passed when it is confirmed. X-ray, pathology, biopsy and surgery are the options commonly employed to confirm this disease. X-ray result is the primary indication of this disease. The general symptoms of this disease are chest pain and difficulty in breathing. If Mesothelioma lung cancer is detected in their early stages such patients can uphold their life by following the treatments advising by the concerned doctors.
Mesothelioma lung cancer patients can seek treatments from the respective cancer clinics and thereby they can extend the duration of life. Radiation treatment, chemotherapy and surgical resection are the common treatment options following by the doctors. Surgical resections are advised in the early stages of Mesothelioma lung cancer to remove cancerous growths. Since lungs are very important internal organs, surgical resections are referred in very rare occasions. The highly prevalent treatments regarding lung cancer are chemotherapy and radiation treatment. Patients have to undergo these treatments alternately as advised by the cancer specialists. These treatments are also advised to patients who have undergone surgical resections. By combining these treatments patients can expect considerable relief from Mesothelioma lung cancer.

Mesothelioma Genes

Mesothelioma is a type of cancer that can really affect any human being. Cancer is the most feared of all diseases in the modern world. So people are more alert of cancer and the causes. The way which it can be affected, and the most effective treatment which can be given is gene therapy. Gene therapy can be made use of in the case of many other diseases. Anyone with genetic problem or change may undergo the treatment of gene therapy.
There are different types of cancers and many of these can be treated through gene therapy. Hence in the case of the mesothelima gene therapy is brought about by changing or altering the structure of the gene. The mesothelioma gene therapy is used for not only changing the gene structure but also the entire function of the gene.
Cancer cell genes are replaced by a new gene in order to deactivate the effected gene and renders them useless. Genes also help to deactivate the growth of blood cells, which is spread all over the body of the patient. To defend the growth of tumor, new genes are replaced instead of bad gene in the patient’s body. Through this, the number of new gene cells in the body increases and they totally replace the bad genes.
There are different studies going on for better treatment for mesothelioma. In future we can get better medical reports and can reduce the death rate due to mesothelioma. The new study in this direction, which was tested in mice, has shown a fantastic result. There are many medical journals that give valuable articles about the suicide therapy. That is most commonly practiced in the medical world in order to treat this kind of medical condition called mesothelioma.
Hence people worldwide and also the patients who are suffering from such a condition need not worry any more about the mesothelioma and its harmful affects that it causes. This has been one of the greatest breakthroughs that the modern medicine has given mankind in fighting the most treacherous of all diseases. No doubt, it is an important chapter in the treatment of cancer.

Mesothelioma Diagnosis

Mesothelioma Diagnosis
Mesothelioma Diagnosis can be confusing since symptoms are same to any other common illnesses. Actually it is this difficulty in diagnosis which makes the disease once more fearful, totally different from other diseases. Mesothelioma cancer is affecting chest, abdominal cavity and lungs. And it has been connected to elevated levels of place of work and contacts with asbestos. It may not be easy for physicians to ascertain the symptoms in initial stages. The imaging studies of illness give rise to different types of questions, if or not they are actually Mesothelioma or any other type of carcinoma related growth. Diagnostic tests like CT scans, MRIs and X-rays are helpful to obtain information related cancer and show the progress. Each type gives various information to doctors to help to make a total diagnosis. The use of chest x-ray is to recognize abnormalities in lungs containing abnormal thickening, fluid and mineral fixed in the area of chest. CT scans are able to provide the images of the similar part from different angles. Magnetic fields are used in MRI technology and this provides additional information more than x-rays.
Biopsy is another major diagnostic course of action optional through doctor, for patients telling symptoms for Mesothelioma and having asbestos exposure history. Needle biopsies give the result of enveloping surgical biopsies. Needle biopsies are not choice for medical reasons.
Medical Imaging Tools like x-rays, Computed Tomography (CT) Scan, Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) are very useful and hence popular.
X-rays of abdomen or chest can make know masses, fluid make up or symptoms of non- cancerous pleural disease. In some times radio imaging does not raise up evidence for the growth of mesothelium, but it may create a shadow to give some hints about the disease.
Computed Tomography (CT) Scan is actually a test that gives some description on the abnormalities in human body. The results, whether it is positive or negative is very much helpful in diagnosing Mesothelioma. It will also help the physicians to take decision regarding the method of treatment to be followed.

esothelioma Symptoms

and symptoms of the disease can be quite different in different cases. Symptoms are normally dismissed by people who usually attribute them to ordinary every day ailments or disorders. Sometimes patients live with symptoms for up to six months before getting the real disease diagnosed. Regularly the symptoms may be present for two three months prior to a mesothelioma diagnosis. 60% of patients diagnosed with pleural mesothelioma experience lower back pain or side chest pain and there are normal complaints of breath smallness. Some people face problems like difficulty in swallowing, repeated cough, fever, loosing of weight, general weakness, etc. Some other symptoms that a few patients experience are muscle weakness, failure of sensory ability, coughing up blood, swelling of arm and croakiness.
Peritoneal mesothelioma is originating in the stomach. It shows symptoms like repeated pain in abdomen, weight loss, nausea, vomiting and the like. If anyone previously exposed to asbestos is displaying any of these symptoms they should seek medical attention from mesothelioma.
One who is suffering from mesothelioma will be anemic in many of the cases. Hemoglobin level in their blood will be much lesser and leads to fatigue. It is to be taken care of and if not treated may lead to the problem of bone marrow loosing.
Another cause is blood clotting disorder and it is a serious complication. It, if kept not treated, will lead mesothelioma patients to anemia. Other symptom is bowel obstruction which is a very painful situation. Chest pain may develop when tumor grows and it will create stress on heart and lungs. Since the growth affects the lungs, in the later stage of the disease, the patient faces problems in swallowing food. Repeated coughing at the time of swallowing food may lead to the problem of food particles entering the lungs. This of course may lead to the situation of getting infection in the lungs.
Nausea is a common problem for patients. It develops on undergoing chemotherapy. But in the case of peritoneal mesothelioma, out of abdominal pressure also nausea may occur.

Mesothelioma Stages

Mesothelioma staging is an imaging studies based up on MRI scans, x-rays and CT scan. In each stage of cancer the disease is increasing it will more effect in life expectancy and Mesothelioma treatment. While pleural Mesothelioma occurs in large number commonly and hence being studied more. Mesothelioma has only staging classification. Mesothelioma Staging System has three primary staging; it is used to evaluate the condition of spread of Mesothelioma cancer and also to explain four stages to explain the development of disease. The important Mesothelioma staging systems are Butchart Staging System, TNM Staging System and Brigham Stating System.
Butchart Staging System is used for finding out Mesothelioma cancer and concentrates on major part of primary tumor. It shows the level of disease in each stage. The system cannot show the amount of cancer cells present in body or the level of cancer all over the body.
TNM Staging System is created by American Joint Committee on cancer (AJCC); this is another type of staging system helpful in various cancers. It shows about the uniqueness of tumor (T), the lymph node is not mixed up (N), in the other parts of body Cancer is metastasized (M). Brigham Staging System is similar to TNM system. It has four progressive stages. The main differences between these two are that they find out the major location of tumor, show the attachment of lymph nodes and show the involvement of metastatic disease. It also helps to show effectiveness and possibility of surgical intervention in every stage. Stages of Mesothelioma are four in number. They are mentioned above, being different to some extent in each system. But it is commonly characterized as shown below. If anyone wants common information about a particular stage and its definition, please look out the following details. Stage 1 Mesothelioma, in this stage tumor part is found out. Stage 2 says of the large amount of tumor effect in diaphragm or lung and also lymph nodes. Stage 3 is effect in chest wall and such like areas. Stage 4 shows effects in several places; they are diaphragm, chest wall lymph nodes and pericaridium. It also tells whether cancer has pervaded in other organs.

Mesothelioma Causes

Mesothelioma Causes

Cancer is regarded as one of the deadliest of all diseases and it results in the deaths of most of the people who suffer from this disease worldwide. The exact cause of cancer is not yet known and it has been several decades ever since this deadly disease has ravaged across the various civilizations of the earth.
It has been a very common thing in this world and it has been reported that the number of the cancer patients on this earth is steadily increasing day by day.
Much can be very well attributed to the mode style of living and also the use of many synthetic types of products that has been the main reason for the cause of this deadly disease.
It has been reported that the mesothelioma is one such category that falls under the cancer and it has also been very much under the scanner. Though the exact causes of this deadly disease is yet to be unraveled even then people believe as per the reports that emanate from the scientific as well as the medical community that the mesothelioma is caused due to the over exposure to asbestos and also due to the inhalation of the asbestos particles and its subsequent deposition in the lung tissues.
This is probably the most common reason that has been attributed to the cause of mesothelioma. But today’s research has very well proved that this kind of medical condition called mesothelioma can very well be cured because of the developments that have taken place in the medicinal field.
Thus people as well as the patients all over the world can very much feel confident regarding the cure of mesothelioma and can henceforth feel that they can be fully cured out of this dreaded disease that has taken the lives of many people across the globe.
Hence the time has come when people can very say that the medical community has done great things by finding the exact medicine and as well as the exact therapeutic ways by which the mesothelioma can be successfully controlled and also eradicated form the face of earth.

Mesothelioma Drugs

Many mesothelioma cancer patients are treated with drugs either as a primary or adjunct therapy. The drugs most commonly used in mesothelioma patients are chemotherapy drugs, which are administered orally or via injection to destroy cancer cells. If you have been diagnosed with mesothelioma cancer, your physician will explain to you your best mesothelioma treatment options. If drug therapy is deemed appropriate, you may be treated with one or more of the following:

Mesothelioma Treatment with Alimta/Cisplatin

The Food and Drug Administration in 2004  approved Alimta (pemetrexed) to be admisistered  in patients diagnosed with malignant mesothelioma. To treat mesothelioma patients, Alimta is often used in conjuncted with another cancer drug, Platinol (cisplatin), Though Cisplatin has been used as a cancer treatment since 1979 after it was was approved by the FDA.  But as a fact, clinical trials suggest that the drug combination extends patient life expectancies when compared with cisplatin alone.

Mesothelioma Treatment with Vinorelbine

After the Success of  Altima/Cisplatin in 1979 New demands for better treatment drugs arose and new medical trails came up with a drug Vinorelbine This drug was approved by the FDA in 1994 for use in patients with breast cancer and small cell lung cancer. However, Vinorelbine may also be used as part of a drug treatment regimenfor mesothelioma cancer patients.

Mesothelioma Treatment with Onconase

Onconase (P-30 protein /Ranpirnase) is currently under tested in clinical trials and so far has shown promise for extending the rate of mesothelioma survival cancer patients. More research is being conducted to determine whether or not Onconase is an appropriate drug therapy for mesothelioma patients.

Additional Options for Mesothelioma Drug Therapy

New drugs are always being tested for their effectiveness in mesothelioma treatment and other types of cancers. Tarceva (erlotinib hydrochloride) and Velcade (bortezomib) are two such effective drugs.

Mesothelioma Drug Therapy Side Effects

Although mesothelioma drug therapy has benefits, it also often causes a number of unwanted side effects such as hair loss, nausea and fatigue. Side effects will usually remedy themselves once the course of mesothelioma treatment is terminated, but patients should always discuss potential risks with their physician before undergoing treatment.
Mesothelioma cancer patients also have various other treatment options, including surgery, radiation therapy and alternative treatments. If you have mesothelioma cancer, talk to your doctor about the mesothelioma treatment options that are right for you since treatment plans vary according to patient.

Types of Medical Treatments Available to Dysphagia Patients

(Mon Apr 25th, 2011, by Michiel Van Kets)

Dysphagia is the medical terminology when referring to difficulties in swallowing and is caused by strokes and related illnesses and damages in the central nervous system. Although a minor problem that can be easily remedied, dysphagia may, at times, take on serious proportions with fatal consequences. Pill forms of medication are difficult for dysphagia patients to swallow, so liquid medications are used in substitute to solve this problem.

To continually ensure the administration of correct dosage, all liquid medicines come with special measuring spoons. Since regular teaspoons are not of standard sizes, it was revealed during a recent study that the dosage could vary greatly when the special spoon supplied with the medication was not utilized. If you are having trouble using the spoon that comes with your medicine, ask your pharmacist for a medicine cup or oral syringe in order to measure your dosage as accurately as possible.

It is necessary for liquid formulations to be designed a bit differently that tablets so that patients receive the proper dosage without the need to consume large quantities of liquid. It must also include ingredients that mask the taste of the drug which frequently is bitter and foul tasting. The normal dose for children is usually no more than 4 millilitres, but adults will usually need to take the medication in a larger dosage. The medicine comes in a syrup solution and has sweeteners and other flavours that hide the otherwise bad taste of the medicine; these types of medicines are normally thicker, as a thick syrup is not as likely to spill or be accidentally inhaled. Furthermore, it might have additional ingredients that make sure the medication stays in the liquid so the medication will work properly.

Medication must be stored properly and safely. It is essential that dosage and timing instructions are followed closely and that any leftover medication is taken to a pharmacy for proper disposition.

The very act of swallowing is quite complicated because it is caused by a reflex neurological action that is managed by the brain. It involves the act of masticating food until it forms a small, soft ball of food called a bolus. The bolus must then be moved into the pharynx where some small, automatic muscle movements work together to get the food into the oesophagus, or food pipe, and into the stomach. Everything happens when the body, at the same time, prohibits foods and liquids from going into the wind pipe and lungs. The whole act of swallowing is maintained by different locations in the brain and if any one of these locations is injured, for example by a stroke, this can cause dysphagia.

There are many medical conditions that could cause the sufferer to experience difficulty swallowing. In order to develop a proper treatment plan that will work, it is critical to find out why the patient has developed this problem. Stroke dysphagia is the most common culprit. Liquid medication and food have alleviated post-stroke problems in case of a number of patients. Although most cases of swallowing difficulties can be alleviated by exercises, there do exist some chronic cases that require feeding tubes.

When the dysphagia becomes so painful that the person is not able to swallow liquid medicine or food, then it is time for either a temporary, or perhaps permanent, feeding tube that will need to be inserted. When other treatments fail to work, this is a final option. Prior to reaching this phase, the reduction of the amount of food put into the mouth, thoroughly chewing the food, adding additional liquid to the food or completely liquefying the food can all be a beneficial aid to swallowing. Since becoming distressed can exacerbate the issues, it is a good idea for the patient to remain as calm as possible.

Younger victims of dysphagia normally suffer from inflammatory muscle diseases, while in older victims dysphagia is linked to central nervous system issues, such as Parkinson's disease, dementia, multiple sclerosis, bulbar palsy and stroke. Achalasia is another possible cause as to why a patient may be experiencing difficulty when trying to swallow. This condition involves the oesophagus when it is not able to sufficiently relax and allow food and liquids to travel down to the stomach; when this happens, the food is regurgitated, the person loses weight and there is pain in the chest.

Dilation damage may occur to the oesophagus if dysphagia is not treated. When that happens, patients who could previously swallow liquids even though they had difficulty swallowing solid foods may eventually be unable to swallow liquids, leading to the necessity of inserting a feeding a tube to provide food and water. Do not experience the pain of dysphagia for too long of a time period. To treat dysphagia, take medicine in liquid forms, mash up your food, take small bites of food, chew thoroughly, and look for medical advice and treatment.

Michiel Van Kets writes articles about dysphagia, a condition whereby swallowing is difficult or impossible due to a disease process, such as stroke. Patients who suffer from dysphagia still require their medication, but because of difficulties swallowing tablets, may find the frequency and experience to be an ordeal. Luckily, a pharmaceutical company such as Rosemont has developed liquid medication to relieve the symptoms of dysphagia, leading to a speedier recovery for patients.

3 Bad Diet Mistakes to Avoid At All Cost

(Tue May 3rd, 2011, by weight loss, diet mistakes, Goal Failure )

Even though there is so much information available about weight loss, the same diet mistakes are being made over and over every day. We are not talking here about little slipups where you ate a slice of pie on impulse or binge on your cheat day, but big mistakes that lead to failure to lose the weight at the right time with the right program. Understanding these errors can help you develop the attitude that will lead to permanent weight loss surpassing new fads and diets available out there.

1. The All Or Nothing Attitude

All or nothing dieters will often pick out a complicated diet that is almost impossible for them to maintain. Before beginning, they will search the kitchen for anything that does not fit the plan and throw it in the garbage. They are planning to be the perfect dieter, and so they will be, for one day, three days, seven days or even a couple of weeks. Then, inevitably, something happens that means they cannot keep to the diet one time. Immediately the whole thing is ruined in their eyes and the diet is over. They go to the store and buy all the things that went into the garbage last week and proceed to gain back all the weight that they lost, as fast as possible.

If you are this kind of dieter you need to ask yourself some tough questions. Do you really want to lose weight permanently, or just lose a few pounds so that you can enjoy putting them back on again? The way forward is to make small changes to what you eat so that you have a slow but steady weight loss.

2. The Attitude of Sacrifice

Another common mistake is to view your diet as a period of sacrifice. You do not allow yourself the food that you enjoy most during the duration of your diet, feeling a sense of deprivation all the time. You may have a great diet plan and be very successful in losing weight, but what happens when you reach your goal? You have not learnt to eat 'bad foods' in moderation so as soon as you start, you are likely to go out of control. It is better to include a little of everything in your diet and learn to enjoy it in small quantities. Even devil ingredients like chocolate!

3. Goal Failure

Setting achievable goals is vital in any weight loss plan. Goals should be clear, realistic and set out in writing. While you probably do have an ideal weight in your mind, unless you are only very slightly overweight, it is probably too distant to be useful. A more useful goal would be to lose two pounds per week for the first five weeks and then one pound per week after that. Some weeks you will lose more and some less, some weeks you may even gain, but if you track your progress on a graph you will see that ups and downs are natural and do not stop you progressing steadily toward your major goal.

If you have been making these mistakes, do not worry. The most important point in dieting as in so many other things is to move on. Learn from your failures as well as your success and do not use one mistake as an excuse for giving up. The only way to achieve your goal permanently is to make a commitment to become a healthier person. Remember that eating normally includes eating more some days and less others. Learn to enjoy food in moderation and you have every chance of avoiding these bad diet mistakes.

The Differences and Advantages of Liquid Medicines over Tablets and Pills

(Thu May 5th, 2011, by Michiel Van Kets)

Everyone has to take medication at one time or another during their lifetime and generally medication is supplied either in tablet or capsule form. Liquid formulations are generally supplied for the very young or elderly patients who have difficulties with medication. Most people are familiar with the liquid analgesic formulations that can be purchased over the counter for babies and toddlers and the cold and flu remedies that are available for adults, but are not aware that alternative formulations are available for many of the prescription drugs where the patient has difficulty in swallowing capsules or tablets. As with all medication care must be taken to ensure that the drugs prescribed or bought over the counter will not interact with any other drugs that are being taken at the same time. Please make sure that your doctor or pharmacist is aware of all the medication you are taking.
As a rule people do not have a problem swallowing medication when it is in a capsule or tablet formulation. These can vary in size from the very small to some that can seem to be very large. Occasionally a patient can have difficulty swallowing due to a condition known as dysphagia, this may occur at a young age and last a lifetime or it may develop later in life as a result of an illness or condition that affects the ability to swallow. When this occurs it is advisable to speak to the doctor or pharmacist and ask if the medicine prescribed is available in a different pharmaceutical formulation, for example in a liquid which would be easier to swallow. Drugs have to go through an extensive formulation and development process before they can be prescribed for patient use as a liquid formulation, to ensure that the drug is dispersed evenly all through the bottle. Liquid formulations often state that the bottle must be shaken well before use to make sure that the drug has not settled to the bottom and is dispersed evenly.
Liquid formulations have to be designed slightly differently to tablets for the patient to get the correct dosage without having to take large volumes of liquid and it has to include something to mask the drug which often is very bitter and bad tasting. Generally the average dosage is kept to 5 millilitres for children though adults will generally have to take a larger dose. The medication is supplied in a syrup formulation a mixture or a solution and contains sweeteners and flavourings to mask the taste of the drug, thicker fluids are often used as they are less likely to be spilled and inhaled by mistake. It may also contain other substances to keep the drug suspended in the liquid and make sure that it works correctly.
Liquid medication is supplied with a special measuring spoon to make sure that the correct dosage is given each time. A recent study found that when the spoon supplied was not used the size of the dose given could vary considerably with the teaspoon used as teaspoons are not standard sizes. If you find it difficult to use the spoon provided ask the pharmacist for a medicine cup or an oral syringe so that the dose can be measured more accurately. There are some basic points to follow when using liquid medicine:
1. Make sure that you know the dose you have to take,
2. Measure the dose carefully into the spoon, cup or syringe
3. Once the dose has been taken, wash and dry the spoon, cup or syringe so it is ready when the next dose is due.
4. Make sure that the bottle is stored correctly some medicines such as antibiotics may need to be kept in the refrigerator.
For medication that needs to be taken on a long term basis a medicine dispenser may be the answer. These are pumps that fit into the medicine bottle and are designed to deliver a fixed amount with each pump. These will make it easier particularly at night when the lighting is not so good or where there are dexterity or sight problems, to deliver a more accurate amount of the liquid drug when it is needed. Please discuss any problems with your doctor or pharmacist.
It is important that medication is stored correctly and safely and that any instructions regarding dosage and timings are followed carefully and that any old or left over medication is discarded, by taking it to a pharmacy to be disposed of correctly.
Michiel Van Kets writes articles about the benefits of liquid medicine. For patients who have difficulty swallowing tablets due to conditions such as dysphagia, these liquid drugs are a god-send, relieving them of the ordeal of having to do something which is already very difficult to do. Rosemont Pharmaceuticals, with over 40 years experience developing liquid medicines, has a wide variety of resources to help healthcare professionals deliver the best care for their patients.

Adopt Naturopathy & Yoga before it’s too late...

(Sat May 7th, 2011, by inderjeet)

Naturopathy is a science and art of drugless system or Alternative therapy of healing for healthy living. It teaches us how we should live, what we should eat and how our daily routine should be. Its main emphasis is to change the living habits of people and educate them to adopt healthy lifestyle. It is simple and easy to practice at the same time within the reach of everyone.

Our body is made up of five natural elements, earth, water, sun, air and sky. Perfect balance of these elements keeps the body in good order. For healthy living our daily activities and dietetic program should be such that balance of these elements continues to be restored.

Naturopathy has evolved out of forest research laboratories of the Sage and the ancient healing traditions. It has a preventative approach to health care and Alternative therapy to other medical streams like Alopathic and Homeopathic. World over, it is now recognized as a valuable and effective treatment for a variety of chronic disorders. Moreover Naturopathic medicine have no side effects.

Why Naturopathy?

Naturopathy focus on maintaining a balance between the human body and the nature. The latent force in the human body and the nature is actually utilized to cure ailments and restoring lost health, vitality and vigour. It thrives to create the positive effect of the five elements of nature on the human body by creating the natural (as made by nature) balance. This is achieved basically by obeying the natural laws and discipline in life so that healing takes place from within. Naturopathy thus uses the inherent latent power inside our body to heal drugless, by aligning the human body to the natural super system, thus creating a positive balance and aligning the vigour in the desired direction.
Naturopathy can cure the following diseases :Constipation, Migraine and headaches,Depression, Dyspepsia,Piles, Myopia, Impotency (Due to depression), Bronchial Asthma,Amoebiasis,Insomnia, Ulcers, Gastritis,Sinusitis,Dysentery,Hyper-acidity, Colitis,Arthritis,Spondylitices- Cervical, Chronic Bronchitis, Diabetes and Heart Disease (Functional),Allergic Rhinitis,General debility, Eosinophilia, Hypertension, Leucorrhoea,Obesity and Menstrual Disorders. Naturopathy is an Alternative therapy and is very helpful in almost all kinds of life style related and diseases.
Several systems of treatment like Allopathy, Ayurveda, Homoeopathy, Unani and Naturopathy etc. are prevalent in our country and almost all of these are having wide acceptance by public. However, it remains a fact that each system has its own advantages or limitations. No system can claim to be complete in all respects. Therefore the rational approach would be to have an integrated approach in respect of treatment and different system should become complementary to each other in the best interest of suffering masses.
Naturopathy an Alternative therapy believes in unity of cause of diseases and unity of their treatment. It’s approach is holistic. It treats the body as a complete unit.
So far Naturopathy is concerned, it has it’s three aspects. First is preventive, the second one is curative and the third one is health promotive aspect. When a patient undergoes Naturopathy treatment and peculiarity of approach lies in the fact that, In other systems the patient need not understand the technicalities involved in treatment but in Naturopathy treatment, the patients are required to have a good understanding of the laws governing health and disease. They are grounded well in respect of laws of Nature and are advised to follow them strictly for restoration of health. Health can only be restored or preserved or promoted or prevented from diseases by living in harmony with Nature.
In Naturopathy no drugs or medicines are used. It is believed that diseases are outcome of accumulation of foreign matter in the body and health can be restored by eliminating them. Drugs are considered as add to the already accumulated toxins in body and therefore to be discouraged and eliminated. The manifestations of symptoms are indicative of reaction of the body and the only thing that is required to be done is to keep them through drugs and other means.
As per Indian beliefs our body is made up of five great elements Earth, Water, Sun, Air and Ether. The imbalances among these five elements are responsible for diseases and the treatment of various diseases with the help of these five element is called Nature Cure.
There is a common saying in Naturopathy that all the diseases but not all the patients are curable by Naturopathy. It depends upon vitality of the patients. If sufficient vitality is there in patients, he can be treated successfully irrespective of the type of disease he is suffering from. It is because cure is effected by vitality working within i.e. Nature. However at Naturopathy centers patients generally come for treatment of G.I.T. disorders, Asthma, Cardiac diseases, Obesity, Diabetes, Insomnia, Hypertension, Mental tension, Anxiety, Cold and Cough, Skin diseases and Occupational disorders as a last resort and surprisingly they get improved.
In Naturopathy the methods employed in treatment are quite easy and can even be practiced at home. In fact Naturopathy is a science of living in tune with Nature, hence it is a Alternative therapy . It mainly stresses on natural way of life. It not only frees one from diseases but also educates one how to prevent himself from diseases. The methods generally employed in treatment are Mud Pack, Enema, Hot and Cold fomentation, Hip bath, Steam bath, Hot Foot Bath, Sun Bath, Spinal Bath, Mud Bath and several types of packs etc.
This being a system of healing without medicine, is free from all the sorts of side effects and iatrogenic diseases which are outcome of medicines. Naturopathy therapy is completely safe Alternative therapy for all and beneficial in almost all the disease conditions provided rightly applied.

Yogic Therapy or Yoga

Yoga is a spiritual science which has been gifted to us by our ancient Sages for the final emancipation. Yoga is a curative and preventive measure for human suffering. The life of man is full of pleasure, pains, stress, and strain. Man is affected by environments, social structures, competition & never ending struggles. He is affected within himself by anxieties, worries, desires, lust, anger, greed, aversion hatred, temptation & so on. Yogic method or Yoga gives the maximum & the minutest techniques for the curve of solid body for mind. Therapy is a treatment. "Treatment for a disorderly mental & Physical condition or diseases with remedial agent of techniques.

Why Yoga is required ?

The most important benefit of yoga is physical and mental therapy. This is the aging process, which is largely an artificial condition, caused mainly by autointoxication or self-poisoning,can be slowed down by practicing yoga. By keeping the body clean, flexible and well lubricated, we can significantly reduce the catabolic process of cell deterioration. To get the maximum benefits of yoga one has to combine the practices of yogasanas, pranayama and meditation.

Regular practice of asanas, pranayama and meditation can help such diverse ailments such as diabetes, blood pressure, digestive disorders, arthritis, arteriosclerosis, chronic fatigue, asthma, varicose veins and heart conditions. Laboratory tests have proved the yogi`s increased abilities of consciously controlling autonomic or involuntary functions, such as temperature, heartbeat and blood pressure. Research into the effects of yogic practices on HIV is currently underway with promising results.

According to medical scientists, yoga therapy is successful because of the balance created in the nervous and endocrine systems which directly influences all the other systems and organs of the body. Yoga acts both as a curative and preventive therapy. The very essence of yoga lies in attaining mental peace, improved concentration powers, a relaxed state of living and harmony in relationships.

Through the practice of yoga, we become aware of the interconnectedness between our emotional, mental and physical levels. Gradually this awareness leads to an understanding of the more subtle areas of existence. The ultimate goal of yoga is to make it possible for you to be able to fuse together the gross material (annamaya), physical (pranamaya), mental (manomaya), intellectual (vijnanamaya) and spiritual (anandamaya) levels within your being.
